Step 3 to Calm Walks! 🪄

🌟Sept 24 Free Training

Let’s talk about Step 3 of my Roadmap to Leash Reactivity: Work the Triggers.

This is where the real magic happens. ✨

What it is: You've probably tried a bunch of counter-conditioning and desensitization games. You may have more acronyms stored in your brain than you ever thought possible.

But do you know HOW each game affects your dogs emotions? Their arousal? These exercises actually change how your dog feels, but ONLY if you understand the when, why, and how to use them.🐕💡

Why it matters: Because if we only manage or avoid triggers, our dogs will always be reactive—and we’ll always be on high alert. We don’t want that. We want our dogs to see the world, notice things without panic, and actually enjoy life on walks.

These games aren’t just “training.” They’re transformation. They teach your dog to handle triggers safely, and they give you the confidence to guide them through it.

🎉 Want to see how this works in real life? Sign up for my free training, and I’ll show you exactly how to set up these games and make real progress. 👉 Register here

Can’t wait to see you there,

– Christina

P.s During the workshop, I will be opening the doors to my signature 8 week reactivity training & coaching program, Leash Reactivity Deep Dive with a special limited time bonus.

The Three Most Common Training Traps So many people get stuck trying to "fix" the behavior they can see—the barking, the lunging, the ignoring, the overreaction. They might not realize they are making a mistake in how they address it. Mistake #1: Not Knowing How to Break Things Down If your dog loses their marbles when someone comes to the door, how can we break that down? The trick isn't just in the behaviour, but in the emotions and how we ask our dogs to cope. The Relaxation Protocol is...

Happy Saturday! I joined Melissa Breau on the Fenzi Dog Sports Podcast this week to talk about intrahousehold aggression—why dogs in the same home end up in conflict, and easy games that take the stress out of the day-to-day, making real progress. 🎧 Listen Now I also gave a sneak peek at my upcoming 3 week course on teaching dogs to move away from conflict. Hey friend, I had a visitor this week—a nine-week-old working line Aussie named Gator. She came over for a few hours of socialization, and we packed a lot of learning into some very short play sessions. I started some patterns and structure for self control and arousal management without doing obedience drills. A few highlights: Toy trading — Prevent keep-away games and resource guarding before they start, and build a foundation for recall away from dogs and prey animals. Sit for the toy —...
