"I'll wait until 2026"

Hey there!

I’ve been having conversations with amazing dog lovers who are thinking about joining me in Leash Reactivity Deep Dive.

One hesitation or question mark that’s come up a lot is TIME.

So let’s talk about it.

Do either of these “time hiccups” come up for you?

1️⃣ “I’m not sure it’s the right time because… insert [holidays], [busy season], [election], [Mercury is in Retrograde], etc.”

2️⃣ “I’m afraid I don’t have ENOUGH time to really dedicate to this because… insert [day job], [I’ve got kids], etc.”

If you’ve had either of these thoughts, good! It is important to think before we blindly sign up for programs.

If you want to make real progress with your dog, you really truly have the time & bandwidth to dedicate. That makes perfect sense.

❓When is a “good time”, really?

I’m willing to bet you can think of at least 1 reason why right now is NOT a the best time.

But can’t you always come up with a reason?

If you start now, pretty soon there will be holidays.

But if you wait til the Spring, there will be camping and BBQs and vacations.

When you have “stuff going on”, whether it’s planned stuff or shit-hit-the-fan stuff, you actually benefit from support that much MORE.

Now, quick caveat: sometimes it really & truly is wrong timing. Only you can know if that’s the case.

But for the rest of you, I just want you to challenge your “now is not the right time” thoughts.

Because what if there’s no such thing as “perfect timing”?

What if having support through the FULLNESS of your life is actually exactly what will help you keep making progress, stay out of overwhelm & move forward?

✔️ If you have limited time, you actually need the clarity & direction EVEN MORE.

You can’t be messing around here.

You, quite literally, don’t have all day to be searching for free advice on YouTube, trying to hack it as a lone wolf.

You need to STOP spending your precious time trying to wade through your 25 ideas, jumping from thing to thing.

You don’t have that luxury. You must be ruthless with your time.

You need to spend the time you DO have actually training with confidence!

Every day your dog is learning. Let's ensure they are learning the things that will move you forward. We will incorporate effective, efficient training into your day to day life, 30 seconds at a time.

If you are on the fence, shoot me an email. We can chat, no pressure I promise. I want this to be fun and successful for you, so we want to make sure it's a good fit.

Talk soon,

-- Christina

Tethered Cord Syndrome This post is intended to help others who are choosing not to pursue surgery for TCS, and to help people who care about Jubilee understand my 'why'. Jubilee has struggled with lameness and GI issues her entire life. She’ll turn seven in January. After seeing a top neurologist, we now have a probable diagnosis of Tethered Cord Syndrome. I’ve decided not to pursue surgery. Without surgery, I know she is unlikely to see her eighth birthday. That’s really hard. It sucks....

Engaged training Resilience * Emotional Regulation * Self Control I've seen a few posts going around lately advocating for use of tools that use pain or fear to apply stress to a dog to help them learn. The trainers promote the idea of a false dichotomy - either you bubble wrap your dog and never progress.. stuck in ineffective training, OR you use e-collars, prong collars, and other tools to either apply stress or to suppress behaviours when a dog is put into stressful situations.. Stress...
