Does the thought of walking your dog making you anxious?

Would you almost rather go to the dentist than take your dog for a walk? Often our training plans only consider our dog's needs, and not our own personal needs and comfort level. Walking and training your dog is a team effort - both of you matter!

Start from a place of success

For many people, starting form a place of success is starting by having a a cup of coffee on your front step with your dog. Heck, you can even start by training inside looking out a window or TV, or even training from inside your car. Your comfort actually matters just as much as what your dog is feeling.

It's amazing how fast we progress when we start from a place where both you and your dog are comfortable and successful!

"I felt pretty confident! I actually have tears. I actually walked my girl and didn’t feel terrified!!!! Even when that dog came out of nowhere! Thank you, thank you, thank you! "

Some common explanations include: Ensuring your dog knows you’re in charge Keeping your dog in a submissive position There are also more practical reasons, such as: Allowing you to position yourself between your dog and approaching people Maintaining a shorter leash for better control I...

Is it wrong to treat your dog like a small furry human? Well... No.. but also Yes, when it compromises a dog's wellbeing. I love my dogs. Hell, I love your dogs. I love so many dogs =) I have relatives that might talk about how I love dogs TOO much. And yes, I treat them like they are people some of the time. Dogs are sentient beings. They have feelings and emotions similar to the ones we feel. While their minds may differ in certain ways, we all thrive on kindness, love, compassion, and the...
